Mast step terminated

The mast step was still in need of some adjustments. Today I had opportunity to get these done. To get them done properly I produced a mock up of the mast, with the proper mast diameter. The pvc tube was not enough for it, since the mast-foot has a protuberance, which is supposed to avoid radial movement. Due to the 4 degree mast inclination, the question was how deep the crevice needed to be to accommodate the protuberance.

But the most visible change were two lateral reinforcements, which will take the lateral forces of mast movement.. I now feel that I have a very strong mast step. I have used very hard Massaranduba wood for this.
